The passion that Luiz Figueiredo has for coffee-growing is truly showcased in this lovely naturally-processed Yellow Bourbon.

Coming from a coffee-producing family, Luiz Figueiredo witnessed from a young age the challenges of growing coffee. With a family that had been hardened by difficulties of working with this crop, Luiz Figueiredo was encouraged to study and pursue a career as a doctor. 

Despite all his success in the studies, his love for the countryside and agriculture took over and Luiz Figueiredo ended up choosing a career in agronomic engineering. 

After many years working in other fields within agronomic engineering, Luiz Figueiredo missed his hometown and dreamed of going back to growing and processing coffee.

By 2006, Luiz decided to move back to Ibituruna, his hometown in Campo das Vertentes. With the money he was able to save working as an agronomist in the soy fields of western Brazil, he purchased a new area, called Fazenda Taquaral, not far from his father’s farm.

From this moment on, Luiz has dedicated himself entirely to the coffee plantation that he has started.

Currently he grows a wide range of varieties, some more and others less know and processes all coffees as naturals.

Throughout the whole process there is a deep care for the outcome with consistent picking and sorting. Once to be processed, the coffee cherries are laid on cement patios to dry and are racked often to ensure even drying.
